Where Tradition meets Elegance

Our house is 65-years old and the two guest rooms are completely made of hard wood. The cool interiors make air-conditioning redundant. Each room has custom-made double cots, a table and chair along with a chest of drawers. Attached to the master bedroom, is a spare room, to use either as a play area or bedroom.

Host

I am Manoj, your host. My family - my parents, Mary and Pappachan, my wife Simi and my two children Sona and Shon are enthusiastic about the home-stay venture as it allows us to meet new people from different cultures. We also get to show our guests the bounty of nature surrounding us as well as giving them a deeper insight into the rustic life of Kerala.

The inspiration behind this venture was my late cousin, Vinod Kumar Mathew, who established the homestay – Philipkutty’s farm. In fact it was he who recommended some of his guests to visit our home.

The experience was truly rewarding, both for ourself and our guests and it helped us realize that this was what we wanted to do all the time. The house and property were renovated to give guests a better home-stay experience. We treate our guests as part of the family, with all meals served in the dining room.

Guided sight seeing tours to nearby locales are provided on request.

Enjoy our ethnic food …

The kitchen is run by my mother and she involves herself in everything, right from sourcing the vegetables, meat, fish and poultry. Her passion for cooking manifests itself into the delicious spread we enjoy everyday. Guests can get a taste of authentic Central Travancore cuisine at our dining table.
